Loewe brings personalised sound to television with Mimi Defined.

Loewe, the world renowned German television manufacturer has partnered with leading hearing authority, Mimi Hearing Technologies to create ‘Mimi Defined’ – a personalised update to improve the overall audio quality of their wide range of TVs.

Loewe televisions already out perform many of their rivals when it comes to sound quality, thanks to their built-in sound bars, but this new partnership is set to take things to a whole new level.
Through working with Mimi, Loewe are introducing software to their TVs which is designed to tailor the TVs’ audio performance to individual tastes and needs. It does so by using algorithms to create a profile for the user based on age, supposedly using data from over a million anonymous Mimi Hearing Test results.

Mimi Defined technology, therefore works, to analyse audio content in real time and adjust it to individual hearing sensitivity. The technology has only previously been available for headphones but will now be built into new Loewe TVs, and for existing models the (Bild 3 and higher) via a newly released software upgrade.

The impressive personalised sound will come free as part of all new Loewe TVs

Mimi Defined is a German-grown technology which uses a hearing test that takes about six minutes to determine if one ear hears better than the other, as well as how response varies across a broad range of frequencies. Then it uses the results to adjust the sound to deliver the way it would sound if you didn’t have any hearing deficiencies.

Mimi Hearing Technologies was founded in Berlin in 2014 and has, in collaboration with Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, created a database of more than 1 million digital hearing tests from across 150 countries. This database is used to optimize sound, the company said. The viewer will not have an actual hearing test performed.
