That is the simplest way to explain the Antares range. The Antares range gives you the German engineering and the design language Loewe is known for.
What is the Loewe Antares range?
Loewe Antares is a series of 4K OLED televisions in four sizes: 42, 48, 55 and 65 inches. The company engineers and calibrates each OLED module itself. Loewe then finishes every set at its factory in Kronach, Bavaria. The range reached the UK and Europe in July 2026.
Loewe has built televisions in that same Bavarian town for over a century. Most brands buy finished panels and fit them into a chassis. Instead, Loewe tailors its own display modules, then calibrates each one before it leaves the building.
How much does a Loewe Antares cost?
Prices start at £2,500 for the 42-inch model and rise to £4,000 for the 65-inch. The optional Antares soundbar then adds £300.
For context, the flagship stellar range starts considerably higher and runs to 97 inches. So Antares is the sensible entry point into the brand, rather than a stripped-back version of it.
What can you configure?
Quite a lot, which is rather the point. First, the core frame is deliberately minimal. You then choose how it looks and where it sits.
Frame finish. Optional aluminium overlays in black or silver.
Mounting. Loewe’s floor-to-ceiling pole mount, several wall mount options, or a rotating floor stand. Some stands are fully motorised, so you can turn the screen towards the sofa by remote.
Audio. Built-in invisible speakers as standard, an 80W front-firing Antares soundbar at £300, or a full external Loewe system.
That last point matters more than it sounds. The set can also serve as the centre speaker in a larger surround system. So you can start with a simple set-up and add to it later.
What is the picture like?
Very good indeed, and consistent out of the box. Because Loewe calibrates each module individually before shipping, colour accuracy tends to be closer to correct on day one.
The range supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, alongside standard HDR10 and HLG. Gamers get 144Hz with variable refresh rate over HDMI. There is automatic low latency switching too, so the set drops into its fastest picture mode whenever it detects a console.
Smart features run on Loewe os9. It carries the apps most people actually use, such as Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV and Spotify. You also get recording to a USB drive and timeshifting.
Antares or stellar: which Loewe suits you?
Both are made in Kronach. Both use Loewe’s own calibrated modules. The differences come down to scale and finish.
Choose Loewe Antares if you want the design and build in a normal-sized room. It gives you real freedom over the mount and the sound. Choose stellar instead if you need a screen beyond 65 inches, or if the MLA panel and the concrete-backed cabinet appeal to you.
Aslan Khabliev, Loewe’s chief executive, called Antares the most individual smart TV the company has made. On the configuration options alone, that is a fair claim.
How does Loewe Antares compare with the new RGB sets?
Differently, and deliberately. Samsung and Sony have both moved their flagship effort to RGB backlights. Those push brightness far higher than OLED can manage, and our guide to Micro RGB and the new screen technologies explains how they work.
Loewe has stayed with OLED. For a bright, south-facing room at 85 inches or more, an RGB set is the better tool. But in a normally lit room, where black level and finish matter, OLED still gives the more satisfying picture. Antares is among the best-made examples of it.
Where can you buy Loewe in the UK?
Loewe sells through a small network of specialist retailers rather than the high street. As a result, the brand is not widely stocked.
