The BBC will be broadcasting an additional High Definition service on the Freeview HD platform during the London Olympic Games this summer. There will be a simulcast of the BBC's main Red Button service on Freeview (also available on 301) which will be delivered in glorious HD.
This extra service will bring the number of High Definition channels available on Freeview during the Olympics, to three.
The Freeview Red Button service will be selecting the best of the action from sports not being covered on BBC One and BBC Three, therefore being able to deliver top quality Olympic action from a range of venues in subscription free HD.
The HD BBC Red Button stream will be available on Freeview channel 304.
The BBC HD channel will also be broadcasting the following events in 3D:
- The Olympic opening ceremony – live
- The men's 100m final – live
- Nightly highlights in 3D
- The Olympic closing ceremony – live
