Moss of Bath were approached by long standing clients, Snow Business UK, to design and install a cinema room within their headquarters in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Snow Business are the world leaders in snow and winter effects and have been creating show stopping scenes using artificial snow for film, TV, events and visual merchandising for over 35 years.

So, when James Bond needs a snow-covered landscape for a car chase or Hollywood wants to freeze New York as if it’s the end of the world, they call an 18th Century watermill in the heart of Gloucestershire!

The cinema room will be used to promote their business to potential clients in the film and media industry and Moss of Bath were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with Snow Business again.

Following an initial consultation with business owner, Darcey Crownshaw, the budget, equipment specification and schedule were agreed.

Working alongside a local carpenter, the structure of the room was formed to include staging that would accommodate tiered seating and this allowed Moss of Bath to neatly and invisibly route all speaker cables, HDMi interconnects and data feeds. In addition, seven in-wall speakers and a sub-woofer were installed prior to the acoustic room treatment and panelling being put in place.

Moss of Bath also installed a Lutron lighting system so that the lighting automatically dims when the movie is about to start!

On completion of the cinema room, Moss of Bath returned to install a projector, amplification and other ancillary equipment which was then acoustically calibrated to the room environment.

The whole system, including the lighting, is easily controlled via an iPad using Demo-Pad programmable software.

Tensioned 3160 x 1420mm fixed projection screen

Sonance Reference series in-wall speakers, including Dolby Atmos

Sonance Reference series sub-woofer

Yamaha home-cinema amplification
