Some installations have a story behind them. This one started back in 2020 and got better with time. We’re delighted to share before and after images of a return visit to a client, where our custom installation team fitted an acoustic slat wall from Acupanel, transforming both the look and sound of their living room.
The Original Installation:

In 2020, our team visited this client’s home to carry out a wall-mounted TV installation. We mounted a 65″ Panasonic OLED TV on a Vogel flat wall bracket, paired with a Naim Mu-so active speaker. We supplied a Just Racks equipment cabinet to keep everything neat and accessible.
As part of that project we relocated an existing socket cluster from the left of the room to directly behind the television, a common and practical move when wall-mounting a screen. The client had planned to have a plasterer fill the original socket hole at a later date.
Six Years Later — Inspiration Strikes
Life gets busy, and the plasterer never quite materialised. For six years, our client lived with the original wall. Earlier this year, they came across a post on our website featuring a wooden slat wall installation and were inspired.
Rather than simply patching the gap, they saw an opportunity to do something far more interesting with the entire wall. They sourced walnut acoustic slat panels from Acupanel, and contacted us to help fit them around the existing installation.
The Return Visit: Precision Fitting Around an Existing Installation
This kind of project requires careful planning. Our team needed to cut and fit the slat panels precisely around the wall-mounted TV, bracket, and socket cluster — while achieving a seamless appearance.
The result speaks for itself. The contemporary walnut finish wraps the entire wall, the television sits flush within it, and there’s not a hint of the old socket void. What was once a source of mild frustration is now one of the most striking elements of the room.
The Benefits: Aesthetic and Acoustic
Walnut acoustic slat wall panels aren’t just a design statement, they genuinely improve the way a room sounds. The combination of natural wood veneer slats with an acoustic felt backing helps absorb sound and reduce echo. This is particularly valuable in a room where you’re watching television or listening to music.
In this case, the acoustic benefits complement the Naim Mu-so speaker beautifully. Add a Panasonic OLED with its reference-level picture quality, and the setup now looks and sounds every bit as good as it performs.
Could Your Installation Benefit from a Feature Wall?
We’re seeing more and more clients revisit existing installations to take them to the next level, whether that’s adding acoustic panelling, upgrading to a newer TV or integrating smart home controls. If you are inspired by a post on our website or ready for a complete refresh, we’d love to hear from you.
Our custom installation team brings the same care and precision to every project — whether it’s a brand new setup or a thoughtful evolution of something we’ve built before. Get in touch with the team at Moss of Bath to discuss what’s possible.
